The secondary research consists of a literature review that contains a critical analysis of the available literature and research on the customer brand identification, brand loyalty, brand promotion, customer satisfaction and retention. It also covers the theories on these variables and discusses any linkages between them. The primary research is carried out among 159 mobile customers in UK with the help of a questionnaire. Because Americans are living and staying healthy much longer than they were just 50 years ago, reaching the age of 65 and becoming a Senior Citizen is no longer the major milestone it has been in the past. As a result, many people stay active and productive by working to the age of 65 and beyond. Even so, and although everyone ages differently, at some point the aging process catches up with all of us. For some it occurs well before the age of 65, but many can and do remain healthy and active well into their 80s and even 90s. The end result is that the median age of the general population is increasing causing a phenomenon often referred to as the Greying of America. With people living longer, accompanying a reduction in fertility rates, there is a higher percentage of elderly people in the general population than there has been in the past. Because this country is a democracy where each citizen has the right to vote, an increase in the number of older people means there will be mo re focus on laws, social programs and legislation involving the concerns of that segment of the population. Although the current hot political topic involving healthcare is The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), commonly nicknamed Obamacare, the number one issue with most seniors at this time however is not Obamacare it is Social Security. After becoming law on August 14, 1935, Social Security has proven to be the number one anti-poverty program in the United States serving roughly 43,317,000 individuals as of January 2017. Being so, many seniors receiving Social Security benefits rely on this program for most if not all their daily living expenses. Due to the Federal Governments own admission that the Social Security Trust Fund in nearing insolvency, it stands to reason then that the viability of the Social Security program is our seniors major concern. Following closely behind social security in importance to seniors is Medicare another entitlement program that, like Social Security, automatically becomes effective when a qualifying citizen of the United States reaches the age of 65. Medicare is the vehicle through which a majority of seniors receive healthcare benefits. This program is also facing a financial crisis. According to information from the Centers for Medicare Medicaid Services (CMS) the total number of Medicare beneficiaries in the U.S. during the year 2016 is roughly 55.5 million. With the increasing number of individuals qualifying for these two entitlement programs accompanied by a constant increase in the cost of medical services and prescription medications, the price tag for both these programs will continue to increase. When you color in that fact that the Federal Government spent a total of 916 Billion Dollars on Social Security payments and 595 Billion Dollars on Medicare bills for a grand total of $1,511,000,000,000 USD or roughly 50% of the total amount of money collected in taxes by the Federal government last year (2016), it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out where this is headed. Regardless of the cost or the reasons the simple fact remains a substantial number of retired folks depend on these two programs for a majority of their day-to-day living expenses which is why they regard Social Security and Medicare to be of more importance to them than the fate of Obamacare. It is important to note here that many of the people who depended on personal savings, retirement plans, pensions and other savings plans to replace their paycheck as a means of support during retirement found that this means of income is less than reliable. The reason this is true is beyond the scope of this paper for there are almost too many to count. Even so, the fact remains most people have little or no additional retirement savings to rely on other than Social Security. In truth, most private retirement plans are a thing of the past except for Government Pension Plans. If you had worked for any governmental body from Municipal, State or Federal you were awarded a retirement pension to go along with your paycheck. Pension payments cost lots of money. A case in point: the Federal Government paid out 983.7 Billion Dollars to retired Federal employees in 2016 alone. That is 67.7 billion dollars more than the total amount of taxpayer money the Federal Government paid out in Socia l Security payments that same year (983.7 916 = 67.7 Billion). Granted, since 1984, some Federal employees were required to pay Social Security Taxes so they qualify to receive Social Security benefits when they reach the age of 65 however, their Social Security payments are in addition to their retirement pension which is taxed at the much lower rate during retirement rather than the much higher rate it would have demanded when the money was paid in. What does this mean? It means that whoever was in charge of the Federal Retirement Pension Plan should have been in charge of Social Security. Can this issue be fixed? Yes, but NOT without hurting some feelings. The facts are: According to the Social Security Administration, 48% of married couples and 71% of unmarried persons rely on Social Security for 50% of their day-to-day living expenses. Another 20% rely on Social Security for a significant percentage of their living expenses. This means that a large percentage of those receiving Social Security payments that do not need these monthly payments in order to live comfortably in retirement but because they paid into the system are qualified to get them. What happens when the Social Security system crashes and burns? After years and years of contribution nobody gets paid the political fallout alone would be enormous? So enormous in fact that todays politicians are avoiding the issue like the plague even as the people in charge of Social Security and Medicare beg them to do something (Social Security and Medicare, 2016). Is there an alternative to crash and burn? Yes but it isnt pretty. What needs to happen is for Social Security to become a means tested benefit program instead of an entitlement program which would initially free up enough money to carry Social Security into the future and make it available as the stop gap program for future generations as the program was originally intended to be. The next thing to do is to put the money collected into the bank and not let politicians write IOUs and take the money and spend it on something else like war or anything else for that matter. Would you take your kids allowance and give them and IOU and blow the money of something you wanted to buy and tell them you will pay them back when they really needed the money? No teenager I know would go for that line so should we? The alternative is not only ugly it could very well tear this country apart. Whats really scary is that like the sunrise its coming. Over the past eight years, the economy of the United States has taken a huge downfall. The unemployment rates are through the roof, the percentage of people in debt has dramatically increased, and the number of foreclosed homes is ridiculous. What if there was a way that we could stop this madness that the government agreed with? The only cost would be to give up your civil liberties. The unemployment rates are the highest anyone has ever seen. Companies can no longer afford to have so many employees, so they have to fire their employees. Some businesses are even going bankrupt. Bankruptcy has led to an even greater number of people being unemployed. Other businesses like Ford, Chrysler, and GM have been given a bailout plan so that they can produce cars that no one can afford. They have still lost a significant amount of employees, but their businesses are still running. These unemployment rates have been one of the main sources of our current struggling economy. Due to the fact that unemployment rates are so high, many people can no longer pay their bills. This leads to people taking loans from banks. The interest on these loans causes you to pay back more than you borrowed. This causes people to fall deeper into debt. Another source of debt is credit cards. Many people use credit cards because they don’t have the money to make their purchase when they want to.Credit cards also collect interest and the television that cost two hundred dollars at Best Buy has now cost you almost four hundred dollars. Eventually people can not pay back their loans or credit card debt which leads to more problems in our struggling economy. Some people have even refinanced their homes so that their mortage would be less. In the long run it has cost them even more money. When you can no longer pay for your home, the government can forclose your home. When your home is forclosed, the government can auction your house off and you no longer have a place to live. Now, you have a unemployeed debtor living on the streets. There must be some way to prevent this from happening. Wait, there is.

Truth, Honesty, and Integrity By: Alexis Woodward Some of the basic fundamentals for creating a meaningful life are those of truth, honesty, and integrity. In order to maintain a quality of purpose in life we need to base our actions of the things we know are right and avoid doing any of those that are wrong. Truth allows for us to be relaxed in our lives creating a more security and less anxiety. If you do not need to worry about what you told each person you do not need to constantly being thinking about what response you need to appropriately give.In order to for us to have a true sense of self you have to be as honest with admitting the truth to yourself as well as to others. Integrity is telling the truth to oneself in the purest form possible. Honesty is how much of the truth you allow yourself as well your truth to other people. The truth is what cannot be swayed. Without others being truthful we would not be able to efficiently cohabitate together. Without integrity we would never be able to appreciate ourselves for our qualities and effectively work to fix our flaws. Honesty and integrity are of the higher forms of our value system.We all seek for the truth both within who we really are as well as in others. True honesty is not just telling the truth but feeling the truth. If you say one thing but feel another you are not being honest with your integrity. Feel better about your accomplishments when you can know what you truly accomplished. We prosper in our development as individuals through truth. Honesty creates a natural peace in the heart. Honesty and integrity when involved with our values generate power and success. Life benefits from being honest with others and ourselves.When I went through recovery the number one thing that was necessary was integrity of being able to be honest with myself and with others. To accept things for what they really are and stop trying to hide from the pain and learn to face and concur it. This allowed for me to mak e the appropriate changes in my life that were necessary for the success in my future. Although truth contains mostly positive results, there can also be negative side effect to being honest. Things like rejection, isolation, hostility, jealousy, animosity and hurt feelings can also stem from too much honesty.Whether something is true or not is irrelevant to whether it is something that should be brought to the light of attention. People tend to avoid hurtful truths so they do not need to face not so desirable aspects of life. However, if you allow the truth through honesty and integrity, it will all link back to positive repercussions. You will find that people will hold you with a great deal of respect, more peace of mind, strong self-belief, and what I find to be the most important aspect of all, strong relationships with others.

Raina Petkoff and her Cover-up Essay

Bernard Shaw’s works make us doubt principles and ideals, which we accepted without a question. The economic status of the Petkoff’s is one of wealth, and the fact that they are rich makes us think of a well-mannered and educated family, especially the young girl. The young girl should give us a sense of nobility and in fact she does in this story. The young girl in â€Å"Arms and the Man† gives us the impression that she is an ideal daughter, lover and citizen. But is she really? This girl tries to portray this stereotypical personality but proves not to be quite the noble girl she plays. At a certain point she sees herself in a very compromising position and is forced to change. As the play begins and we start getting to know this girl, Raina Petkoff we start noticing that she is a bit vain. The stage directions go as follows: â€Å"†¦On the balcony a young lady, intensely conscious of the romantic beauty of the night, and of the fact that her own youth and beauty are part of it†¦Ã¢â‚¬  (1561). This excerpt takes away some of the innocence she portrays in a subtle way. The next deception comes when the Swiss enters through the window; instead of screaming for help she decides to help him hide. She even lies to the Bulgarian officer who is looking for the Swiss, betraying her own country. Raina and the Swiss get to know each other a little, and with his experience he can see right through her. He instantly discovered the superficial coating over a very rough interior. The mother, Catherine, proves to be the same when she abandons her patriotism and loyalty and helps the Serb officer to hide and even escape the next morning. â€Å"Like father, like son† they say. But the biggest surprise comes when the Swiss or Serbian officer or Bluntschli blows Raina’s cover. Raina is outraged or pretends to be when Bluntschli throws the truth at her face. He calls her a liar and insists on it. She gets furious at first, but gives in when she realizes she’s got no way out. Her reaction is: â€Å"†¦ I! I!!!†¦How did you find me out?† (1591). And here she confesses that the â€Å"noble attitude† and the â€Å"thrilling voice† is just a cover-up. This is Raina’s turning point. We could say that at this point she went from being a girl to being a woman; at this point she matured. Another important fact to my case is the picture of herself she left in the jacket for Bluntschli to find, and the message it contained. â€Å"†¦My chocolate cream soldier†¦Ã¢â‚¬  (1603) is the name Raina gives Bluntschli in the dedication of the picture. This title given to Bluntschli suggests some type of affection that at this point is obvious but if the audience had learned of it as it happened chronologically it would be very shocking. After the turning point described above, Raina becomes a more outgoing and sincere person. She describes her own cover-up personality as a â€Å"noble attitude and thrilling voice† (1591) to Bluntschli. Raina also says Bluntschli is the first person that didn’t take her fake personality seriously. She confesses to the point that she mocks the people who believe her â€Å"noble self† by saying: â€Å"†¦ I did it when I was a child to my nurse. She believed in it. I do it before my parents. They believe in it. I do it before Sergius. He believes in it† (1591). That incident of calling her a liar made Raina mature. It was a turning point in the life of this character and in the plot of â€Å"Arms and the Man†. Bernard Shaw uses his comedies to criticize many ideals by mocking them. In the case of â€Å"Arms and the Man† he takes the nobility of a wealthy, respected family and destroys it by mocking many of its aspects. In this essay I analyze how Shaw takes the view of innocence of a young, noble, rich girl and changes it to make it crude reality, he makes the Petkoff’s look like common people with very little nobility.
